In one line: this is a private, single-user application. It reads Adam Murphy’s own bank accounts, stores the data on his own encrypted computer, and shares it with nobody.

1. Who this is

“Adam Personal Finance” is a personal, non-commercial application operated by Adam Murphy (Dublin, Ireland) for his own exclusive use. It has no other users, no customers and no public sign-up. Contact: hello@adammurphy.ie.

2. Whose data it processes

Only the operator’s own personal data. The application does not process any other person’s personal data, and there is no mechanism by which a third party could submit data to it.

3. What data it accesses

Account details for the operator’s own payment accounts — account name, identifier (IBAN), currency and balance
Transaction history for those accounts — date, amount, currency, counterparty and description
Documents and correspondence already held by the operator, such as statements, invoices, receipts and payslips

Access is read-only (account information services). The application cannot initiate payments, move money, or modify anything at any bank.

4. Legal basis

The data is the operator’s own, accessed with his own explicit consent given through his bank’s strong customer authentication. Consent may be withdrawn at any time through the bank or the account information service provider, which immediately ends further access.

5. Where the data goes

Account data is retrieved via Enable Banking Oy (Finland), a regulated account information service provider supervised by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority, acting under the operator’s own authorisation. Their terms are published at enablebanking.com.

Beyond that provider, data is not transmitted anywhere. It is stored locally on the operator’s own computer inside an encrypted volume. There is no hosted server, no cloud database, no analytics, no advertising, no profiling, and no sale or sharing of data with any third party.

6. Credentials

The application never sees, requests or stores banking passwords or PINs. Authentication happens entirely on the bank’s own website or mobile app.

7. Retention

Data is retained on the operator’s own encrypted storage for as long as it is useful for personal budgeting and for meeting Irish tax record-keeping obligations, and is deleted at his discretion.

8. Rights

As the data subject and the operator are the same person, data protection rights are exercised directly. Nothing prevents any bank or provider from being asked to erase records held by them.

Any change to this policy will be published on this page with a revised date.
